GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The educational program is designed to empower students with strong Language skills that will enable them to be extremely communicative in both written and oral abilities.
They will be given awareness, through the educational programs, about global issues and strategies and will be designed in collaboration with the faculty to promote peace, environmental control, world citizenship, cross border globalization and a deep understanding and tolerance of rich cultures, heri- tages, religions, philosophies and ethical values.
Students will enhance their understanding of the worth of education to increase their capabilities to develop their own careers and realize their vision for their futures. They will be able to absorb the true meaning of the statement that:
“A man’s flight through life is sustained by the power of his knowledge”
ACIA follows the semester system in accordance with the Punjab University schedule to enable its stu- dents to appear in the annual BA/BBA/BSC exams as per schedule. The fall semester begins in Septem- ber and lasts for 14 weeks ending with a 2-week exam period. The spring semester begins in January and lasts for 14 weeks ending with a 2-week exam period. The summer semester is optional and offers a 6 week program. The 2-year BA/BBA program is based on 6 semesters (inclusive of the summer se- mester) with the completion of 93 credit hours for 31 courses taken for the entire period of study. This entitles a student to take a minimum of 5 courses each semester.

Students at ACIA will have personal advisors throughout the 4 year program, who will guide, counsel and advise the student from selection of subjects to completion of the degree program and then to career development and job placement in multinationals and the local and international markets. Pro- spective employers will be invited from the global markets to interview students on campus for offer- ing employment opportunities. The parent and alumni network will assist in this program.

ACIA has a commitment to operate all of its programs in accordance with the highest standards of excellence in education which are designed and implemented in accordance with world-class standards of accreditation. The college is in the process of seeking accreditation with one of the six regional accrediting associations in the USA, as well as affiliations with Australian, European, Irish and British Colleges.
ACIA is deeply concerned with the development of the individual, and therefore encourages the intellectual, spiritual, cultural, social, emotional and physical growth of each student. We seek to prepare students in humane leadership and service. The ACIA experience is designed to help the students go beyond the limitation caused by ignorance.
The faculty of ACIA is committed to student learning and their success in their studies so that they are prepared for a meaningful and productive life after college. Students will develop a close professional relationship with one or more members of the faculty, and this personal contact will be one of the strengths of ACIA. Faculty members will provide assistance to students, and they will not charge tuition for this help. ACIA prohibits faculty members from charging tuition for extra assistance. ACIA is a co-educational institution that believes in a non-racist learning environment in which both men and women can learn effectively and develop the character traits and personality that will en- able them to succeed in later life. Respect for the dignity of human life is important for creating a wholesome and positive atmosphere for learning by both men and women.
ACIA seeks to prepare students for a lifetime of self-directed learning. This will be essential for success in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex world. The faculty models this commitment by constantly learning about new knowledge in their academic discipline, and by participation in a variety of professional development programs presented to them by the college management to help them learn new approaches to teaching and learning. They are also encouraged to attend at least one workshop a year on the International forum so that they can interact and share valuable information across the globe.
